I consider myself sooo blessed to be a product of their love and marriage.  They have been a wonderful example to my husband, myself, and my siblings.  I can't tell you how proud of them I am.

They have dedicated their lives to raising my siblings and I, God, and each other, and they are still going strong.

  • Can you say abandonment?

Wow, it has been ages since I posted anything on here, I still check pretty regularly to see what is going on in other people's lives, but don't often stop to put anything here.  A big part of that is because my camera died, and I feel the pictures greatly improve the overall quality of a post.  Never fear, though, I got a new camera with the money I got from wonderful family memebers this holiday season!

So.... backtracking to SEPTEMBER when my last post was, I finished my first semester at Simpson with 4 A's and 1 B and, luckily, my sanity.  I really love campus, and most of my professors, and how close we are to both Zach and I's family. I was able to take my first Ed class last semester, and spent a lot of time in the local elementary school.  I especially enjoyed my 3rd graders, and think I am narrowing down the age group that I want to teach, but next semester I have to work in the middle/high school, so that should be interesting, considering my best chance of getting a job is as a middle school math teacher with my math endorsement.

Zach is still working full time at Best Buy, still absolutly loving it, even though around this time of year customers become rather annoying.  I'm working at Jo's Hallmark in Indianola, and I think it may be my favorite job yet.  I have loved every job I have had, but it is soooo nice to live six blocks from where I work, and the people that come in are usually super nice, which is always a plus.  I also work at Barnes and Noble still every other Saturday.

Life is going well, and I am very excited for the beginning of a new decade! Hopefully with this new camera I may actually post with some regularity! haha

  • An Interesting Realizaiton...

As I was looking through my Sister's photos on facebook I came across one I hadn't seen before.  It stopped me dead in my tracks. Now, I know this will not suprise, well, any of you.  Nevertheless, it was something that I have always known but not really realized untill now.

My sister and I look a LOT a like.  In fact, I think she looks more like me the older she gets!  (Jord is almost 13 in her picture and I am 18 in mine)

  • The apartment

I've had a lot of people ask what the apartment is like, and today Zach asked me to take pictures of the apartment for insurance purposes anyway, so I decided to share!  As much as I would love to have all of you over so you can just see it yourself, you wouldn't all fit so these pictures are the next best thing!! lol

Just to give you an idea of where we started, this is what the apartment looked like when we came home from the honeymoon.

The table/kitchen.  I didn't take a ton of pictures when we got back, but trust me when I say that it was BAD lol.

Here is what it looks like today:

This is what you see when you open the front door.  Notice my laptop in the blue rocking chair, that is where I am sitting AS I type this lol.

    The apartmetn 004

My cookbooks, photo albums, and a few wedding momentos are directly to your right when you enter the living room.

    The apartmetn 011

A close up of the picture above the shelf.  I looove this wedding present form Steve and Pat Thompson!!

Continuing around the living room you would see the couch, the blue chair where I am sitting, and then the movie/game shelf.

    The apartmetn 005

The television is the to the left of this case, and these next shelves are to the left of the television.

    The apartmetn 007

Another shelf full of wedding momentos.  The cord in front of it usually isnt there, that is just so I can connect to the internet!!

    The apartmetn 012

The view from my couch into the kitchen and the hallway.

My kitchen isn't very big, so it dosent take too many pictgures lolThe apartmetn 014

This is the shelves in the far left corner of the kitchen that hold all of our kitchen appliances.

    The apartmetn 016

The left half of the kitchen,

    The apartmetn 015

the right half of the kitchen.  Notice the oh so lovley green stove!! lol

    The apartmetn 001

The view into the office.  Note my not-so organized desk.

    The apartmetn 002

    Zach's not so organized desk

    The apartmetn 008

And lastly, two of the three bookshelves in the office.

The office and the master bedroom are both still works in progress, but we expect to be done in the next week or two at the most!! The bathroom, kitchen and living room are all done.

It is very exciting to watch our little place begin to look like a home, instead of just a place to dump our stuff! lol

  • Part two of the big day!!

So, it was finally time to start the ceremony.  The grandparents, parents, bridesmaids and groomsmen, ring bearer and flower girl had all gone in and it was Dad and I's turn.

Another picture that I think is touching.  Its so great to see all of those people praying for us to have a happy and blessed marriage.

Sand Ceremony time!! We had our mother's add the white sand in the bottom of the jar to represent the foundation of our marriage - our faith in God and the love of our families and the example they had set for us.
