Almost four weeks ago now, I got married. I've been meaning to post for ages, and just never got around to it. I've started this post and been inturupted many, many a time. SO, starting with the rehersal dinner on Friday June 12 here we go.
I was a wreck at the rehersal. Not a complete wreck, but I was starting to feel verrry nervous about this huge life change and I was struggling to keep our entire wedding party focused (With 5 bridesmaids, 4 groomsmen, 4 ushers, and two little ones AND all of their famillies we had quite the group at the church Friday night). However, everyone survived and rehersal acutally went really really well. Before hand I had typed up a schedule of how I wanted everything to go and my personal attendants made sure everything went that way!!
Friday morning we had gotten our nails done. Starting with the orange shoe and going left we have Julie, Me, Amy and Gabby (my two personal attendants) in this picture. Gabby was taking pictures to try to distract me while we waited for the last few people to arrive.
This is me waiting for the last few people to arrive. I don't look stressed at all... right? lol I was verrry nervous by this point in time! After the rehersal at the church we went to a nice litle italian place on the South Side of Des Moines that I'm not sure I can spell lol. After dinner everyone went off to their respective homes. Chantelle and Ashley stayed the night at my house, and we watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding, played Candy Land and Clue (again, they were trying to keep me entertianed and relaxed, lol)
The next morning was the big day!! Everyone was up bright and early and all of the bridesmaids made it to the church by 8am! A friend of the family, Ann, did everyones hair.
That's her daughter in the background. While everyone was getting their hair done one at a time those who weren't getting their hair done took care of some last minute decorating problems and got stuff set up for the slideshow. Sam Ford and Alena Ingle came early and Sam helped everyone with their make up. I have a picture of that, but it isn't saved on Zach's computer.
Chantelle, Julie and Ashley are helping me get ready to take the pictures here. Ashley was the last one to get her hair done... we were running a little behind and she didn't get hers done untill about half an hour before the wedding was supposed to start... almost 45 minutes after we wanted to start taking pictures, but that was fine. For all of the stress that I'd had the night before, I was remarkably calm on the day of my wedding.
While the girl's were scurrying around downstairs, the boys were all ready to go already! These are the Flack Boys. Justin, Tyler, Drake, Kyle and Ryan. Justin, Tyler and Ryan were ushers, Drake was the ring bearer and Kyle was a groomsmen. Drake had stepped in at the last minute to be our ring bearer, since Lance Bown had been sick earlier in the week.
Zach's Mommy was upstairs helping the boys get ready.
The photographer had Zach go in the room behind the auditorium and wait for me to come up. This was the first time he saw me.
Then we started in on the professional pictures
Me, Zach, Drake and Kiana. Drake and Kiana just did an absolutly fabulous job as ring bearer and flower girl! We were sooo proud of them!
I think the best part about a wedding is that you are joining two famillies together. I now have two brothers and two sisters. This is Zach's brother and sister (Rex and Julie) and us.
My family. We aren't really sure why Jordan is practically standing on top of Kyle... lol
My lovely guestbook attendants!! Alena and Dawn did a wonderful job and they are both just two of the sweetest people we know anyway!!
This was my favorite part of our decorations. The pictures around us are our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents on their wedding days.
Moving me anywhere was SUCH a hassle. I was really bad at remember that my bridesmaids needed to get ahold of the back of my dress before I walked out.
This is my very, very favorite picture from the wedding day. I just love it.
By the time we had taken our outside pictures Ashley was ready to go, so we came back in for our big group pictures! Kiana had gone down for a quick nap, so she isn't in these.
All the Bridesmaids, Groomsmen, ushers and of course Drake! lol. Zach ended up short a groomsmen. His cousin Clark was his best man, but Clark is in the navy and at the last minute he wasn't able to come to the wedding.
When we were finally done with professional pictures we went back down to the kid's classroom to take some ones with my bridesmaids... this was Courtney's idea and I thought it turned out really cute!
All of the bridesmaids with the LOVLEY Phyllis who made all of the dresses. She is amazing and we are sooo thankful to her!
Then after taking a bunch of pictures it was time to wait to go upstairs while the people filed in upstairs
This is me and my father-in-law waiting for our turns to go upstairs.
After waiting awhile, though, it was finally time. And even though you have waited awhile for this post to be up, I have to go to work so hopefully I will be able to give you the ceremony and reception part of it tomorrow!! Stay tuned! lol
